Accessible YouTube for Grid 3

Getting Started

  • There are no requirements for using Accessible YouTube. If you have a Google account, you can use it to log in. This will allow you to browse through your viewing history, receive personalized recommendations from YouTube and synchronize your activity with other devices you use.
  • If you want to login, make sure you have your login and password available.
  • Login – After selecting  Accessible Youtube from your Grid Explorer, follow the sequence  – Login and Info => Sign In => Email or Phone => enter your Google account email or phone  => Next =>  Password => enter your Google account password => Next => Sign In.
  • You are now logged in to your Google account. Select Continue to YouTube to start using the app.

  • Menugo to YouTube Menu.
  • Select – click this cell after deciding which video you want to select. All videos in the current table will become dwell-enabled and you will be transferred to the “Select Video” page.
  • Reload Table – click in case the videos’ table disappears.
  • Arrows – Back and More – these cells are highlighted, and are dwell-enabled at all times. Clicking a cell will take you to the previous or next page of videos.

Select Video

Selecting a video on the Home page will bring up the Select Video page. All videos are highlighted and dwell-enabled. You can select a video using Eye Gaze.

After selecting a video, click Go to Video Page to switch to full screen mode, and go to the Video page.

Click Pause Dwell  if you changed your mind and want to resume browsing the video pages.

Video Controls

  • Menu – go to YouTube Menu.
  • Back –  go to YouTube Home page.
  • Mute – mute the video being played.
  • Player Volume – opens a grid where you can control the player volume.
  • Play/Pause – toggle play.
  • Forward and Rewind – opens a grid that allows you to jump forward and backward in the video being played.
  • Skip Ad – allows you to skip pop-up windows and ads (only where YouTube allows it).
  • More – Like or Dislike the video, Subscribe or Unsubscribe to the current channel, add you your Watch Later list, view the current channel.
  • Video Options – toggle subtitles, toggle auto-play (at the end of a video).
  • Playlist Videos –  if the video being played is part of a playlist, clicking this cell will bring up a table with other videos on the list. The current video will continue to play in the background.
  • Related Videos – present the related videos (as determined by YouTube) in a table. The current video will continue to play in the background.

YouTube Menu

  • Back –  go to YouTube Home page.
  • Home – go to YouTube Home page and reloads the table.
  • Other Views – select a view. The available views are: History, Subscriptions Feed, Watch Later list, Liked videos and Trending.
  • My Subscriptions – go to a list of the channels you’re subscribed to and select one.
  • Search – click to search for videos.
  • Utilities – recover / reopen YouTube, close windows you do not need, close pop-up messages etc.
  • Options – change the device volume, toggle Skip Ads automatically. Go to “Additional Options” – where you can control video table dimensions.  
  • Grid Explorer – exit Accessible YouTube and go to Grid Explorer.H

Additional Options

This page is accessible from the Options page – change the dimensions of the videos table. These dimensions are used in the Home page, Search Results page, History page, Related Videos page and Playlist page.

Click the Change Table Size cell and select one of the 5 options.
