Getting Started

  • Requirements – to use Accessible Facebook you need a Facebook account. Make sure you have your login and password available.
  • Login – After selecting  Accessible Facebook from your Home Page, follow the sequence  – Login and Info => Log In => Email or Phone => enter your Facebook account email or phone number => Password => enter your Facebook account password => Log In.
  • If you already logged on this device, your previous logins will appear. You can click Recent Logins to login again with one of them.
  • You are now logged into your Facebook account. Select Continue to Facebook to start using the app.

  • Post Options – add , edit, delete, share or translate (when translation is offered by Facebook) the selected post. View the post author profile.
  • Menu – go to Facebook menu.
  • Comments – go to the selected post comments, to browse, open or respond.
  • More Comments – open more comments to the selected post.
  • Post Up and Post Down – select the post above or below the currently selected post. If no post is selected, select the first post.
  • Full Text – open the full text of the selected post.
  • Click Post – open the media of the current post. A new page will open, with buttons to control the media in the post, based on its content – video, YouTube video, picture gallery, web link, etc.
  • Read Post – read the content of the selected post aloud.
  • Comment – respond to the selected post by writing a comment, sending a gif image, sending a sticker, sending an emoji, sending a picture or a video.
  • Emotion – send an emotion emoji to the selected post
  • Like  – like the selected post


  • Find Friends – review friend requests from other people. Review Facebook suggestions for new friends.
  • Search – search for posts, people, pages and groups. 
  • Home Page (Feed) – go to your Facebook Home Page.
  • Notifications – open and review your notifications.
  • My Groups – browse the groups that you are a member of, and access one.
  • My Profile – go to your profile.
  • My Friends – browse your friends and go to the feed of one of them.
  • Utilities – recover/reopen Facebook, close windows you don not need, close pop-up messages, zoom in and zoom out, etc.
  • Options – change device volume level, toggle text enlargement, switch between Facebook’s New and Classic user interface, log in and log out, go to additional advanced Facebook options.
  • Exit – exit Accessible Facebook.

Search Results

  • Menu – go to Accessible Facebook Menu.
  • Up and Down arrows  – browse the search results up or down.
  • View […] – click this button to open the selected search result. The caption on the button, and the page it will take you to, change based on the current filter – posts, people, pages or groups.
  • Posts, People, Pages, Groups – filters the search results, based on the selected type – posts, people, pages or groups.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clicking Select Post will open the video and allow you to control it.

If there is a “see more” message in the highlighted post, this button will show the full text of the post.

This button allows you to review the translation of posts that Facebook offers to translate. Only posts where a message “see translation” appears in the post, are eligible to be translated.  Translations will be offered based on the user’s settings in Facebook.

If the comments are hidden, you have two options –

  • Click More Comments.
  • Click Post Options and then Show/Hide Comments.

From Facebook home page click Post Options, and then New Post.

From Facebook home page, make sure that the post that you want to delete is highlighted, click Post Options, and then Delete Post (or Edit Post). Note – you can delete/edit only posts that Facebook allows you to delete/edit (your own…).

Yes. With the relevant post highlighted, click Comments, and using the Comment Up and Comment Down buttons navigate to the comment you would like to reply to. Then click Additional Options and Reply to Comment.
